Privacy & consent
This page explains what we collect when you use Get Local Providers to request quotes from local mechanics, how we use it, and your choices.
What we collect when you request quotes
When you submit the quote form we ask for your vehicle (year, make, model), a short description of the problem, your postal code, phone number, and email address. Submitting saves your request and starts outreach to local shops for quotes; we email you a link to view quote details. Phone is used for callback and follow-up as described below.
Browser storage (request list)
Your shop picks (up to five mechanics) are stored in localStorage in this browser until you submit a quote or clear the list. Saved job details on the homepage match flow (problem text, vehicle, postal code) use sessionStorage and are cleared when you close the tab or browser. An optional saved location (postal code) in the header uses localStorage separately so browse and search defaults can remember your area without an account; you can change or clear it anytime. Nothing in those stores is sent to us until you submit the quote form, except as described under AI problem classification. Problem text and postal codes are not placed in page URLs.
Coverage notifications
I agree that Get Local Providers may store my email, FSA and requested service category to notify me when coverage expands to my area. My signup will be deleted after 12 months, or sooner using my deletion link. This optional signup is separate from a quote request. No email is sent when you sign up. Save the deletion link shown after signup to withdraw consent and delete your record.
AI problem classification
We send only your problem description to OpenAI to suggest a service category. The request passes through Cloudflare Turnstile and rate limits on the quote form and homepage match flow. We do not send your name, phone, email, or postal code to the model. Every category suggestion must be confirmed by you before we match shops or start outreach — including when the model is confident.
Recorded automated calls
Our automated agent (Voiceflow) places outbound calls to shops for quotes and may call you for callbacks or follow-up as described below. When a shop provides a quote, we may place a separate automated follow-up call to that shop about two to three days after confirmed quote delivery. Before any recording or transcription starts, the automated agent discloses that the call will be recorded and transcribed and that transcription is required for us to run the service. Shops hear a sanitized summary and problem category — not your raw free-text problem. Any call recipient (shop owner or searcher) may object to recording or transcription; the automated agent stops capture immediately, ends the call politely, and does not solicit further speech or promise a callback. If someone asks to speak with a person instead of the automated agent, we note that for our operations team and do not restart the automated call path.
Calls and emails to you
Submitting the quote form starts automated outreach to the shops on your request (and eligible replacements under our calling rules). As usable quotes come in, we email you a combined quote list with a View details link to your signed results page. We do not send quote lists by SMS.
If you do not submit the delivery confirmation on that page within eight hours of the first quote-list email for your request (later combined updates do not restart that clock), we may place one automated callback during permitted calling hours, even when the email was delivered successfully. If a quote-list email bounces, we may call you sooner on a separate bounce-callback path to help you get your quotes.
We may send a one-time follow-up call a few days after confirmed delivery. To stop further automated calls, ask during a callback or contact us at devteam@madebygoodyutes.com. Call opt-out applies only to phone calls — we will still send quote emails for your request. Quote emails are not a way to opt out of calls.
Quote emails and click tracking
Quote emails include a signed link to view results and cancel a scheduled callback. Our email provider (Resend) records open and click events for delivery analytics; those events do not cancel callbacks or change quote delivery by themselves.
A callback is cancelled and delivery can be confirmed only when you submit the explicit “I got my quotes” action on that page (a confirmation POST). Opening the link or an email open pixel does not cancel a scheduled call. Signed-link tokens are not sent to analytics.
Retention
- Quote requests (12 months): we remove name, phone, email, and all free-text (including your problem description). Full location is coarsened to a postal FSA or mapped neighbourhood. We keep vehicle year/make/model and problem category for aggregate use.
- Call recordings and transcripts: deleted after 90 days.
- Short call summaries (12 months): when we place shop or searcher calls we store a short sanitized summary of the problem on each call record (separate from your quote-request row). We clear those summaries on the same 12-month schedule as quote-request anonymization.
- Phone call opt-out: if you ask us to stop automated calls, we keep a scrambled copy of your phone number (not the number itself) on our suppression list while the opt-out is active so we can honour it on future requests, including after we remove plain name, email, and free-text problem details from your quote request. That entry stays until you ask us to clear the opt-out.
- Shop claims: parked or rejected claims are anonymized after 12 months. Approved claimant contact details are kept only while the claim is active. Claim-notification emails are link-only and deleted on the same schedule.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 for page views and high-level funnel events on public pages. We do not send free-text problems, postal codes, phone numbers, emails, or signed-link tokens to GA4. GA4 is disabled on /q/** signed-link pages.
Shop listings
Listings come from public and licensed business sources. Shop pages show sourced address and contact details. When we have a Google place id, we may show a lazy-loaded Google Maps embed on the shop page. We do not show Google ratings or review widgets until later releases. Shops can contact us at devteam@madebygoodyutes.com to correct data or request do-not-call treatment.
